It’s been a very fun week. Hailey turned 4. Our little girl is four and I must admit there was a minute or two where I just sighed with emotion – it’s an amazing stage in their lives … she is independent in so many ways. Choosing her outfits (last week she went to school in striped cozy pants and a bright flowery shirt with a mismatched colour underneath and a bandana), truly ‘getting’ our sense of humour and jokes, trying to figure life out as best she can (when she told me Grandma Barb, my mom, was going to come back and play with us really soon pretty much broke my heart), showing her younger brother the ropes (just this morning she got so excited for him when he put the puzzle piece in the right spot) and just making her own decisions and choices. She amazes me. And she’s 4. Ahhhhhhh.
So her party. She and four friends went to see Princess and the Frog. It was so adorable .. the five of them in the row in front of us looking so grown up. Half of them in fairy princess outfits. Yes, somehow one can look grown up in a fairy princess outfit! We came back for cake and gingerbread house creations (made from graham crackers) and an hour of overwhelming chaos that more often that not accompanies a birthday party of kids that age. I think I snapped about 5 photos as it was pretty busy, but wanted to share a couple!
And further below, my friend since grade 5. Fawna. Down-to-earth, go-to-her-with-anything, encouraging, motivating, uplifting, hilarious Fawna. And her gorgeous family out near Longview. After the mini-shoots that one Saturday we took on her property, I was very excited to get some images of her family and here are some we came up with!
