So how many families can I just meet and totally love??? The list keeps growing and this family is no exception! Such sweet girls (and Dad, you are cool, too!) We had a fun time venturing down some back alleys finding some fun spots to photograph and got some super fun results.
Happy Anniversary and a big congratulations on 50 years of marriage!! Their children so lovingly gave them a photo shoot for their anniversary — isn’t that the sweetest?? We had a picnic at Fish Creek park while we took photos of everyone in the family. I whisked the two of them away for a bit to take photos of just them and had such a fun time talking with them hearing their stories of how they met and raising children and pursuing dreams. Loved our conversations and hope they love the photos!!
Oh my goodness… what a wonderful morning with these three girls in their backyard. Between these three beauties I got big grins, shy smiles and ’philosopher’ looks. Over and over it amazes me how you can get such different personalities between siblings.
Yes, what a gorgeous family. If Mom and Dad think they have their hands full now, wait about a decade!!!
Can you say completely, COMPLETELY adorable?!?!? This gorgeous family visited me from Bahamas and it was such an honour to be asked to take their photos while they in Canada for a family reunion. I have photographed their gorgeous cousins and their other gorgeous cousins and so it was a treat to meet others in the family. And kudos to them … they arrived in Calgary late at night and got up to meet me a 9:00 the next morning, with not a hint of grogginess!!! And yes we had ice cream at 10:00 in the morning. One of my favourite images is in the ice cream shoppe — the little girl’s sassiness is to die for!
Hmmmm, wonder if they’d like to have a photo shoot down on home turf one day…….
This family and I stood in the middle of the parking lot waiting, crossing our fingers, hoping that the huge dark clouds above us (the ones that weren’t there when I left my home 15 minutes earlier) would give us a break and quietly leave us to our shoot. But no, they had other plans and the rain just kept a-coming! These sweet kids were so disappointed that we had to postpone. They promised me they’d keep their clothes clean until we met up again. 24 hours later we had a beautiful evening. The kids kept their promise and we had a fabulous time together with take #2!! Enjoy!
A little bit of a break from blogging this past week but there are plenty of sessions that will be posted over the next week! Also if you are interested in a fall session please call me as soon as possible! There are a couple spots left in the last couple weeks of September! Plus I will be announcing mini-sessions soon!!!
Adorable face. Adorable curls. Gorgeous eyes. Max is one serious cutie! Watch out though — he has quite the good aim when he has a water hose in his grasp!!
Such a treat to visit this family for the fourth time since their first little girl arrived. This time — a new addition! Sophia is just so adorable… and looks exactly, exactly, exactly like her big sister did when she was a newborn! I just love the entire series with this pink hat from Haute Tots, a Calgary company that makes these sweet hats. I was just going to put in one but then at the last minute had to put in the second image with the hat as I just love that one too — she’s telling me… I’m exhausted camera lady!!!!
A few weeks ago, there was a post with an extended family shoot in dreamy evening light. Well we went back, this time with morning light! This time it was for the other side of the family, who also happen to be my cousins! Cousins that I don’t see as often as I would like… but it was lots of fun to catch up with everyone again. It was a birthday present for Mom and Grandma… hope you love them, Lynn!
This family is going through lots of changes right now. All three kids have flown the nest and are settling down in different parts of Canada. Their parents spend their time living in the States and here. And when I asked them when they had their last family photo shoot, the youngest said they were around five years old!!!! That’ been 12 long. long years and I am so happy they contacted me for a photo shoot together. There were lots of jokes, poking fun and laughter. I love the shot of father and son — they were feeling a bit goofy ‘posing’ for their picture together and I love the result.
And as timing would have it, the sisters met me at the Marda Gras Street Festival last year. That festival is happening again this weekend on Sunday August 8th on 33rd Avenue in Marda Loop. Come see our booth!! Visual Hues Photography will be in the KIDS QUARTER area and I’m pretty sure we’ll have a fun contest going on!!!
When I first saw these three little ones pop out of their vehicle one by one, I knew we were going to have a magical shoot! The whole family was full of big smiles, lots of giggles and a sense of style that I just loved. The best thing… the kids are just as fun and free-spirited as they are gorgeous.
It’s a big post, I know, but it’s all I could do to narrow it down to these ones!! I’m sure I’ll look back at their gallery tomorrow and wish I would have put some other favourites in!!!
