CHILD AT HEART CHILDREN’S STORE

If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Child at Heart children’s store, you have to treat yourself and the favourite kids in your life to a visit there.  It is one of the most stunning collection of clothes, toys, shoes and gear in the city.  There are two locations in Calgary; one in Kensington and the other in Britannia Plaza on Elbow Drive.   The Britannia location will soon be moving from its current location across the road in the same plaza to a much larger area.  And I could not be happier and more privileged to have Visual Hues Photography images going up on the walls of the new location!

Please go and visit the new store when it opens in mid-June!   You will undoubtedly be treated to amazing customer service amidst an array of gorgeous items … and you’ll be able to see which images below of two special girls in owner Sandra Bjurstrom life are up on the walls!   Plus there will be a couple more images up of little Visual Hues models that you may recognize!!

We did a photo shoot with the girls, wearing Child at Heart clothing, at the plaza and beyond and they were the perfect models.  8046

BUSY BROTHERS

What a fun shoot this was.   Mom had a fabulous idea to take the boys out without Dad knowing so they can give him a most wonderful Father’s Day present.  Is that not the sweetest thing ever?  I think he will be very pleased!   When I asked the boys what they liked most about their Dad, they said he was sporty, played hockey with them and was silly.   Funny… I wonder where these boys get their energy, busy-ness and silliness from!!!     We did everything from dancing to fishing to running around to skipping stones to just having fun.  I definitely needed to put my feet up after a very fun and busy shoot with them down at Sandy Beach. 9507bw95339566bwcollage_5imagecollage_3image

SO ADORED.

This precious little girl was such a pleasure to meet … and so adored by her sweet mama and papa.   I was honoured to be part of this special stage with their brand new daughter.  Enjoy … and yes, you can’t convince me that’s not a nice smile in the last image. 11x14_3images969696289702bw

CANVAS WALL

May has turned out to be an amazing month with such a wonderful array of shoots … everything from newborns to 4H steer sales to very busy boys to maternity to twin 4 year olds to tweens to big families coming together for graduation … wow, it’s been busy and hence my blog has been quite neglected.  So look out — there is going to be quite a few posts coming through this week to showcase all the gorgeous babies, families and children I’ve had such fun working with this month.

So I’ll start it all off with a wall collection…  my OWN wall collection!  In April I received all my canvases for the wall display I put together with Hailey and Reuben as well as my nieces and nephews.  I absolutely love it and so I very much wanted to share.     Just to give you perspective, the one of Hailey in her pigtails in the upper right hand corner is a 8×10 canvas.  The long one of Reuben in his stripes is a 10×20 and the big one of Hailey with her dollhouse is a 24×36.

Let me know what you think!8497_1-copy

SWEET LITTLE BOY

Is he not the sweetest?  I just adored this new little guy — he completely made my day!   In this blog post I wanted to show some different ways to finish up images.  These two images just begged for a 10×20 crop; one horizontal and one vertical.   I can just see them as custom framed with a nice thick mat or a wrapped gallery canvas.   It’s a unique size that always gets lots of compliments.  Another one of him sleeping  in a classic square format… this one of two shots taken from this angle before he woke up and wanted to wrap it up.  And then I had to have one of him awake.   Thanks so much … lots more to show you Mom and Dad!  8249_10x20
