PERSONALITY!

Wow!   Reyan has so much personality, I could have taken pictures of him for a whole week and enjoyed every minute of it!  He had me cracking up constantly and I can’t even count how many times I was saying “He is sooooo cute” to myself as I was taking the pictures.  What a fabulous little guy.  And of course he melted my heart when he took my hand as we walked down the street just after we took the first image you see below.  I loved what his mom brought for clothes — it just worked so perfectly with our urban look to the shoot.   I can’t wait to show mom and dad the rest of the images — they’re coming soon!5003

JUST BEING THEM

oh my goodness… how much fun was this?  Three sisters and a brother.  Four delightful characters.  One guitar.  Cowboy hats, boots, tutus, caps, tiaras, scarves.  Madden and his sword pretending to be a knight on this huge stage that was all his.  Three sisters who must have changed into 6 outfits each I’m sure.  Everytime I turned around they had a new hat, different boots, a cape, sunglasses… gosh I just adored them all so much.  Each of them had this spirit that was so beautiful to me.  And they this whole morning a secret from their daddy, as this was his birthday present!   How lovely is that?   After our shoot, their mom wrote me and thanked me for giving her the time to see them BE THEM!   I really loved that she told me that, as it just hit me.  I know that is the aim of each of my shoots, but for a mom to say thank you for giving HER the time to see that first-hand … I truly get a lump in my throat thinking of it.  Thank you Seabird for sharing that with me.  So here are her gorgeous children …  just being them!  Enjoy — there’s lots of them… couldn’t resist.

MAKENA.

It has been such a fabulous week.  Oh my goodness, I love what I do so much.  I could list the reasons, but really you only have to look at the beaming faces of the gorgeous children I am so honoured to take photos of and see why I love it so much.  Makena, you are just a doll and I had so much fun with you and your mom!  I had a very hard time narrowing down the images to some of my favourites for this blog post.  But please ask her to put this first photo of you on a canvas — it will look stunning!!

This is the last shoot to be posted from our July sessions.  If you’d like to book a shoot for our next on-location shoot in Longview on Saturday, October 3rd – you’ll see lots of posts from Longview in the past couple weeks — email me and we’ll get you a space!

OUT IN THE GARDEN

I truly fell in love this gem of a boy — he is just so perfect.  And when this beautiful family showed me their backyard, I was in further in love.  With a gorgeous view of the mountains and a lovely combination of rocks and flowers, I could just envision myself sipping my earl grey tea out there every morning.  hmmmm, oh yeah, it’s not my place…I guess they wouldn’t appreciate an extra visitor every morning!  There was this beautiful section in a perfectly open shaded area and I was so thilled when they agreed to take photos of their new son along with his lovely older sisters outside in this spot.  I hope you love how they turned out.   There’s lots more I can’t wait to share with you Thompson family!   Thank you!  3769blogblogitandrew

INDIA IN LONGVIEW

Let me introduce sweet, sweet India.  Is she not the most gorgeous little 5 week old?   India was the youngest one to have her photo taken at the Longview mini-sessions.  I am so glad her mom brought her down — within 30 minutes we were able to capture such a lovely variety of images.  She was definitely fighting the zzzzzz’s but finally in the end we won!2478

GORGEOUS GIRLS

It was so much to see Ayden and Olivia again.   We first met about eight months before and I was thrilled to know I was going to see them again.  And you can see why … such adorable girls who light up the camera.   I just love the series in the yellow flowers… I love their smiles, the colours, their dresses and a tender moment between sisters.

Thanks so much for making the trip down to Longview!

We were able to capture the sweetest series of Ayden running through the grass — she was so excited about dad chasing her around!   3127

BACK HOME!

I’m back home!  Harold and I had a fabulous, fabulous time in San Francisco.  I can’t wait to show some pics but as many of you have been waiting very patiently for your galleries I wouldn’t feel right diving into those before getting some galleries up!   And that includes these two gorgeous kids who came to the Longview mini-sessions.   This is one of those families I’ve been so fortunate to have seen grown over the years.  First as just two… Harold and I took Shanna and Ty’s wedding photos.. then with Kate and now with her little (although he’s not so little… he’s just a gorgeous bundle of complete happiness ) brother Devon.  Enjoy and lots more images to come over the next week.

Please email me  if you are interested in a mini-shoot (or full shoot) down in Longview.  The next date is set for Saturday, October 3rd.19381778

OFF TO SAN FRANCISCO!

You may have noticed I’ve been blogging like crazy the last week.  I’ve been trying to get as many shoots edited as possible before  Harold and I head off on our own little holiday.  Yes, we are off to San Francisco!!    I’m sure we’ll talk about the kids lots and wonder what they’re up to (maybe?!?!), but at the same time smile that we can get up when we want, don’t have to listen to Treehouse during breakfast and never have to pull a wagon behind us when we go for a walk.   Ahhhhhh… can’t wait.  So no posts for a bit but I’ll get back to it as soon as we get back as I know many of you are patiently waiting!!

Before I leave, I wanted to leave a post which is dedicated to my neighbours.  My wonderful, fun, wacky, supportive, most fabulous neighbours.  I know we all consider ourselves so lucky to live on the street we do and be surrounded by such amazing people.  Here are some images of their gorgeous families… thank you guys.

LAUGH

You know those people who you meet and you just are so happy to be around them?  Clare is one of those people — my gosh, this lady is such a fun, engaging, happy, lovely person.  She just makes me laugh — she’s the one in the top left photo — she always has that huge grin on her face.   I feel so privileged to be photographing her family for the third time.  The first time, I met her husband and sweet little kids.  The second time… she brought one of her sisters and her little guy.  And now she added her parents and her sister’s husband!   And they’re all as equally nice as her!!!   (Well except when her sister took me out!!   Yep she was doing something behind me to make the kids laugh, I did a move to the right for a different angle and WHAM!  toppled right over Joanna.  Camera was ok.)  Anyway, I can’t wait to meet the third sister someday!   Enjoy!!!   (I just love the image of grandma and grandpa!)blogit1

ANOTHER FUN FAMILY!

Here is another family I was so delighted to meet for the first time at our Longview shoot!  What fun… I mean look at those cowboy boots, tutu and tiara… how seriously cute is she??   And a brother who was the best behaved little guy– he just sat there as good as could be and looked adorable the whole entire shoot.   I had to include the one of Grace below as well… she was zapping away all the ‘cow poop’ out of the barnyard!!!!
