I had to entitle the name of this blog post “Little Miss O”. I can’t tell you how many pictures of have of this adorable little girl with her mouth shaped into a perfect ‘o’. I had to put together a collection of my favourites as we giggled so much about it during her shoot. We did the whole shoot at Grandma’s place… she has a gorgeous backyard complete with gardens and waterfalls, plants and flowers, benches and gravel. A morning with this little sweetie would make anyone’s day!!!
It was a very very blah day out weather-wise, completely gray and overcast when I made my way over to my morning shoot this day. As soon as this client opened the doors to their home, my day brightened up. oooh, those baby blue eyes that greeted me! This 12 week old just made my heart melt the first moment I saw him — and for many moments afterwards. I mean, just look at his beautiful blue eyes!! He is such a gorgeous little guy … not surprising in the slightest considering his mom and dad are pretty darn beautiful themselves. I love his blue eyes, but a lot of these images were calling out for black and white. Thank you for such a lovely morning!
This little one is just sweetness through and through! She is one of those babies you just want to go up to and say…. oooooooooh my goodness, you are such a cutie!!! I think I did that about thirty times during our shoot!!

This sweetheart was just all smiles!!! This stage of a baby’s first year is a treasure to photograph. They give gorgeous smiles, have so many expressions, can sit and push themselves up and have that wonderful baby posture we love. What a pleasure to photograph this 6 month old – she had me giggling the whole session through!
Oh, I just loved this little boy. Such a sweet disposition and sweet smiles. I love his toes sticking out, his baby finger pressed against his index finger and his ridiculously precious expression on his face while being held by dad. I’m sure I’ve never seen a dad so excited about a photo shoot before. He was so into it and so wished for an image with his jerseys so the last image is for him and his sports addicted family!!
Here’s some photos to remember what Calgary was like before all this May snow on the ground!! What a treat to see this family again. We have gotten to know each other through an engagement shoot, wedding photos and newborn photos. This little girl is one of the sweet babies that now have their images up at the Foothills hospital Labour and delivery floor. She is now one year older and Mom and Dad told me she has gone for three haircuts already!
She was just so pleased with herself sitting up on this bench, I had to include this first image. And I just love her two bottom teeth!
It’s always fun to go to clients houses and bring their own loves (in addition to their family!!) into their shoot. Dad is a big mountain climber and suggested incorporating his ropes and jacket into the shoot. I think she looks as sweet as can be and will be out on the mountains with her mom and dad before they know it!!
Way back when, the mom of these beautiful kids and I were neighbours. Yes, we’re both from Longview. Yeehaw!! She was a few years younger than me which of course seems like a world of difference back then. Now that we are grown up those years in between meld away into the background and we could have chatted for hours and hours. I just love her attitude towards motherhood — she is so relaxed, so smiley, so easygoing for being the mom of a busy boy and a week old little one. Thank you for such a lovely day. I just love how this first image speaks to “brand new”.
Another beautiful little girl to oooh and ahhh over. Gosh there can’t be anything sweeter than a newborn, I swear. I didn’t mean for this posting to be all black and white, but as I was picking out my favourites it just worked out that way. Little Evageline’s room was so gorgeously decorated I had to include a favourite from there — in colour of course! If you can draw your eyes away from gorgeous mom look at the colours behind — I love what they with the colours on the wall.
This brand new little girl was the most alert newborn I think I have ever photographed! Just look at those gorgeous, big eyes!! And she was content just lying there giving me the sweetest looks. And look how strong she is, holding her head up while dad held her. We did try to get her to sleep but she would have absolutely nothing of it. I think Mom and Dad are going to have a night-owl on their hands!!
