Oh, I just loved this little boy. Such a sweet disposition and sweet smiles. I love his toes sticking out, his baby finger pressed against his index finger and his ridiculously precious expression on his face while being held by dad. I’m sure I’ve never seen a dad so excited about a photo shoot before. He was so into it and so wished for an image with his jerseys so the last image is for him and his sports addicted family!!
It’s always fun to go to clients houses and bring their own loves (in addition to their family!!) into their shoot. Dad is a big mountain climber and suggested incorporating his ropes and jacket into the shoot. I think she looks as sweet as can be and will be out on the mountains with her mom and dad before they know it!!
One more precious newborn to celebrate! She was the sweetest little baby to photograph — I don’t think there was one complaint from her. Of course, the moment I saw her I knew we had to highlight her amazing head of hair and super long eyelashes! I’m sure her lashes at 8 days are longer than mine at errrrrrrrr years. I also love how we were able to incorporate Mom’s love of animal prints into one of the images and they’ll see some more smiles when they get their full gallery.
This little guy was absolute perfection. I just fell in love with him. He must be learning from his older sister and brother already, because they were complete sweethearts. And I’m pretty sure they learn from mom and dad, as they were such a wonderful, down-to-earth, kind couple. What a pleasure to spend the afternoon with their newly expanded family. They were sweetness, through and through.
There are so many images I just love from this session… the dozing picture with the sweetest hat ever, the priceless expression of baby’s face in the second set, big brother with his dear puppy, the family photo with baby looking as content as can be, the pure happiness of mom and dad with baby, the older siblings taking their ‘big brother’ and ‘big sister’ roles seriously, the secret shared between brother and sister, and the light falling on the two little ones with mom and dad smiling behind them. And the last set with baby all swaddled up on the kitchen table — it may be hard to believe he was NOT a happy baby just moments before those were taken. We had to bring out the secret weapon for that one!!!
Sweet new baby girl. I’ll let the images speak for themselves on these ones. Well, except for one thing … I will never, ever tire of seeing the adoring faces parents show the new loves in their lives.

I love to learn. I am constantly looking how I can improve my images, add to my technical skills and make my business that much more successful. There are many ways to do this, but one way is to learn from other photographers. I have admired Angela Weedon’s work for a long time. Her images are absolutely breathtaking and every time I visited her blog I just melted. If you take a visit there, you’ll immediately see what I mean. I was so inspired by her work I asked if she’d be willing to teach me and she agreed to work with me one-on-one! I was thrilled! The experience with Angie was second to none. I felt my images improving with each hour spent with her. She was so open with all her own experiences, techniques and skills. Her husband Matt runs the business side of their studio and he was so generous with his thoughts and time and advice as well. I couldn’t have come away from my time there more inspired, more motivated or more excited. Thank you Angie and Matt for your time, knowledge and hospitality. I hope we can meet again someday!!
One of the days I was there we worked with the sweetest little newborn. She is not only gorgeous she was very cooperative as well (although now I know many more tricks to make them cooperative now!!!) I just fell in love with this couple. We had so much fun taking photos of mom’s belly early in the new year. We chatted and chatted and chatted about Canada and their home country of Venezuela. We met just in time as the day after our maternity shoot, their little boy arrived! And so lucky me got to go visit them again just ten days later. And oh my goodness what a sweet little boy. Look at his eye contact in the family photo — I was melting…. and not just because we had the temperature cranked in their home!
For anyone who found out you were pregnant in 2008 you may recognize this next family! Mom and Dad were featured on the cover of the From Here to Maternity 2008 book that you received from your doctor. Well the little one in Mom’s tummy in that image is now a big brother — as he proudly displays in the image below. He has a new baby sister and she is as sweet as he was as a little newborn. Here are some before and after images … welcome sweet girl. You are one lucky little one to be part of such a beautiful, fun and caring family.
Another beautiful little girl to oooh and ahhh over. Gosh there can’t be anything sweeter than a newborn, I swear. I didn’t mean for this posting to be all black and white, but as I was picking out my favourites it just worked out that way. Little Evageline’s room was so gorgeously decorated I had to include a favourite from there — in colour of course! If you can draw your eyes away from gorgeous mom look at the colours behind — I love what they with the colours on the wall.
I must have said “She is so gorgeous”, I can’t believe how calm she is”, and “she is beyond precious” a hundred times, EACH, during this session. Let me introduce you to Carlin, such a sweet new arrival into the arms of the most wonderful couple. When I met them for their maternity session and so thoroughly enjoyed getting to know both of them. They are one of those couples you could sit down with and drink 5 cups of earl grey tea and still be talking non-stop. I loved how much they are in love and they are now so in love with their little girl. Here she is at nine days old. Yes, beyond precious.
